How To Make Coconut Oil

Being a traditional part of so many countries, coconut has also been used in medical purposes. It is an indispensable item used in ayurveda, which is also a type of medicine. The founder of ayurveda named Sushruta said coconut is very effective for cleansing urinary track, muscles strengthening, wound healing, improvement in complexion etc. to manufacture soaps, detergents, cosmetics coconut oil is used and there is research work going on to determine whether it can be used to replace bio fuels.

Four types of coconut oils are found. They are- refined coconut oil, hydrogenated coconut oil, virgin coconut oil and fractionated coconut oil. Among these, the virgin coconut oil is processed naturally and is best to be used to cook and for massaging. The process of How to make coconut oil is very easy. Normally fresh and ripe coconuts are used to prepare virgin coconut oil. Some information is being listed of How to make coconut oil. At first, two or three coconuts are taken and then its husks and shells are removed. The water of the coconut is kept aside. The coconut flesh is grated and poured into a net bag. After that, the bag is held tightly with the palms and pressure is given on it to squeeze out the milk of the coconut. The bag is dipped into the coconut water to get drenched by it so that to squeeze the remaining coconut milk.

How To Make Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is made up using this coconut milk with separate two methods. One is natural fermentation and the other is heating procedure. In case of first method, the coconut milk is mixed up with the left over coconut water which is then poured in a transparent jar of glass. Then the jar is placed in the room temperature for near about 20 hours. It will make the water to go down at the bottom of the jar and above it the colorless or pale yellow colored oil will float and above it, a white layer of protein will float. The oil is then filtered. In heating method, the milk of the coconut which got extracted from the flesh of the coconuts by grating, is being heated in a low flame. While heating the mixture, it has to be stirred continuously. As the mixture gets boiled, it gets thicker. After few moments, it is seen that the oil is getting separated from the mixture. After cooking few, more time, only the oil will remain as the water got evaporated. Then it is cooled and poured in a cleanly washed glass jar that does not contain any moisture. The coconut oil which is homemade is now ready to be used.
